A value of Sigma Delta Tau is to instill a sense of philanthropy among ourselves and the community. The Gamma Alpha chapter is actively involved in SDT’s mission to Empower Women. Through educational programming, community service, and fund raising events, our chapter supports Prevent Child Abuse America-our national philanthropy, the Sister-to-Sister SDT Foundation, Jewish Women International and Women for Women International. We invite all individuals of the Binghamton community to participate and help us in our endeavor to support our philanthropy.
Our service is not only limited to SDT's philanthropy, but it also extends to the Binghamton University and surrounding Binghamton, NY communities. We additionally participate in other Greek life organizations' and campus philanthropies. Sig Delts strive to “do good” everywhere we go and take part in the many opportunities to be involved in service.

Prevent Child Abuse America is SDT's national philanthropy. The emphasis of this project is to "prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation's children" and includes all forms of abuse and neglect, whether physical, sexual, educational, or emotional.
